Hey hey, Louise, it was such a delight to read the latest email. With all your spontaneous moves and ideas. It makes me feel very fuzzy and nice from the inside. Because most things in my life are on hold now and seeing that somebody who seems likeminded comes up with the similar ideas, weirdly gives me hope. I almost shouted out - wooow - when I read that your are starting a podcast. Because I had this idea in my mind for ages. And I recently even managed to get a good used audio recorder. I will be listening to your podcast with such joy as soon as I can. PS: birds sing like crazy in my parts of the globe, how about yours?

Yeees, it's finally April and all of the birds are singing. Best time of the year. I get teary-eyed just talking about it. 🖤 Having the windows open, and reading on the couch in the evening, listening to the robin. It soothes my soul. What are your favorite birds to listen to? Do you have the blackbird and the european robin over there too?
I feel very strong creative drive now, but I have to rethink many things. I have too many people that are close to my heart who are/were from Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv etc. It just feels wrong to publish cozy vlogs from my home when they don’t have homes anymore or live in a grave danger every day. At the same time I feel like a coward that I don’t have balls to become an activist or talk publicly because censorship hit us like a brick. I so I am trying to come up with some other ways to express myself.
And yeah, about podcasts, I am very excited. I even had 2 concepts of a show. But again now being Russian and having podcast in English which is not vocal about what’s happening is weird. I was recording Patreon podcasts which were like and audio to a friend - lively updates about my life and work. But now Patreon is on hold as well for me.
I will let you know. I mean you will know anyway from my new email list. I have 13 people subscribed and I almost drafted the first letter. I want to send it out next week!
I have many many birds in the forest near my house. Unfortunately I cannot hear them from the window because I also have quite a big highway nearby so there’s a certain hum. But when I step into the forest, it goes crazy. We have both blackbirds and robins, they leave for winter, but now they are back.
We also have a couple of real big ass ravens in my part of the forest. I spot them here and there, I think they are the same couple. Do they live in couples?
I am very bad in recognizing birds voices. But it is my latest fascination from 2021. I bought a very cool audio recorder and hope to record some birds sounds this year. Also this recorder will hopefully be a gear for my podcast.
