I just left this in a note to you when subscribing, but I'll say it here, too: I came across your calm marketing video on youtube towards the end of last year. It felt like a light at the end of a tunnel of social media darkness. The thought that I can actually have a functioning, valuable, meaningful business (ok, I'm in coaching, but still) without having to chase the algorithmic nightmare known as social media...well, it got me excited! So, I'm subscribing to you to inspire me to make this change! Maybe not immediately, but certainly as soon as possible!
Thank you for sharing!
As an ex-pro singer-songwriter, and someone who is seeking the path of combining creativity and transformational coaching, your way of doing things resonates deeply with me.
Hey Louise, I'm so glad you're back! You have been a huge inspiration for me since I discovered you on Skillshare years ago! I've been following you ever since. It is you who inspired me to write and paint more. And just last week, I assembled all my courage and started my own Substack on the science of birds! So far, I feel so welcome here on Substack. This is truly an awesome community, and it is great to know that you'll be part of it again!
Hello, Louise, I am so happy you decided to get back here to substack. Reading you always makes me feel so... well... calm. I am curious about what you will share here later this year.
I read about your recently joining birdwatching community, and it is so exciting. I am trying to find something like that here in Spain, but still no success, but I check from time to time. And I observe birds from my balcony. We have starlings here for winter and they are so loud. My common guests at the balcony are black redstart, sparrow and robin. I want to find a way to feed them or maybe even provide drinking water as here water is scarce. But I hate all the options at the amazon for a bird stands, still brainstorming how to better do it.
PS: I would love to have an opportunity to comment on your posts, so I am reaching out to you.
...and seeing you in the comments always lights me up. 🖤 (I gave you a free lifetime membership.)
Really? No local birding groups or organizations? That's a shame. 😕 But one can always be a lone wolf birder! I would love to hear more about which birds are down there. Probably many of the same ones we have up here (including all the ones you mentioned), but probably many other ones as well.
Ugh, I've struggled with finding decent bird baths as well. Ones that are not ridiculously expensive or way too small so that the water evaporates within, like, ten minutes. 😆 I eventually settled on simple flower pot "saucers" or whatever they're called. They're cheap and easy to find in different sizes. I have a large one for the magpies and thrushes, and a smaller one for small birds and insects. They work like a charm! At least if you're fine with having them on the floor or ground.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it, Louise!
Yeah, for now no luck, but then again here we have a lot of social groups that don't really advertise at all, so maybe I will find someone eventually. Also chances are they have Spanish (manageable) or Catalan groups, which is an additional challenge. But I am eager to learn, I also believe in learning by doing. I almost found people who promised to take me mushroom hunting next season. I cannot wait.
I think I will go with some generic items for bird bathes. I will maybe just find a plastic table or stand? And put a plastic something on it to pour in water. Nice idea!

Thank you so, so much Nathan. 🙏🏻 You're inspiring me to write more about that topic. Could us some renewed commitment and resolve myself. 😊
Haha, please do!
I’m so happy you’re here! And I love your newsletters, just the way you choose to write them. 🙂
Awwww thank you! 🖤😌
