Dear Louise, I've loved listening to your first episode of your podcast. 🖤 There's so much that resonates with me. I'm currently at the very beginning of my drawing journey. And I've been feeling a lot of what you described, such as comparing myself with other artists (those who have been drawing for ages), having to become better very quickly etc. Just recently I realized that I have to go back to the basics and just draw because I love it, because it calms me, because I can loose myself in it. The outcome doesn't matter. Of course, I'm more satisfied if I draw something that I like, that I can be proud of... but it only has to please me, satisfy me... and no one else. I'm not as courageous as you are and I'm not planning on any YouTube videos and/or podcasts (and I wouldn't even dare leaving a voice message to you yet), but I've just recently started my Substack to share my work. And I want to share my work that I'm proud of, but also the work which doesn't satisfy me, the 'ugly' work. I hope by doing that I'll encourage other people to start following their 'arty' dreams even if they are not a Picasso or Miró or Khalo. I don't know yet where my drawing journey will take me, but I'm curious to find out. And I'm curious to here more from you... I'm looking forward to your next episodes. Hopefully hear you soon. 🤗
One really should "go back to basics" more often. It's like that advice often given to couples who have lost their romantic spark - to try dating like when they first met. One should do that, but with one's creative work. 😂

So happy to hear that, Rebecca. 😊
